Haridwar Main Bazaar is located between the Upper Ganges Canal and the Jwalapur Haridwar Road from the Har ki Pauri Ghat to the Laltarao Bridge and is a dense maze of narrow streets and alleyways catering mainly to the pilgrims but with many interesting shops selling all sorts of fabric,weavings and knit ware locally produced or imported from all over India and neighbouring countries. It is an extremely interesting cultural attraction and large crowds throng the narrow lanes, pilgrims and tourists alike, especially during holidays and weekends.
Har ki pauri is the palce where amrit fell
The most sacred bathing Ghat is Har- kee-Pauri. or Brahman Kund. This place is mostly filled with pilgrims and all rituals are done in this place .The Ganga Arti in the evening every day is delifghtful scene.When many diyas are lighted and they are floated in the ganaga the view is charamastic. Ganga jal the holy water is taken pilgrims for solemn occasions.The temple of Ganga , Mansing-ki-chhatri, Haricharan Temple and Birla tower are situated.
Chandi Devi Temple
At this place demon Army chief Chand-Mund of the demon Shumbh-Nishumbh was killed by devi Chandi at this place. It is on eastern bank of river Ganga on the 'Neel Parvat', at a distance of 6km and 3km trek from Chandigha you can also take rope way to reach the temple from chandighat.
Temple of Gauri shankar ,Neeeleshwar Mahadev and Anjani Devi are nearby. It is believed that the main statue was established by the Adi Shankaracharya in 8th century A.D.
On the way to sapt rishi kund ashram, there is bhimgoda tank. the origin of which is said to have created by Bhim with blow of his knenees.It is 1km from Har-ki-pauri

It is about 4km from Haridwar.Kankhal is one of the five sacred places of pilgrimage. (Panch Tirath).The ancient Shiva (temple)Mahadev is located in south Kankhal town.The mythological legend state that king Daksha Prajapati, the father of Sati performed a Yagya here but didn't invite Lord Shiva sati was offended by his father behavior and sacrificed her life by jumping into the fire of yagya, Infuriated Lord Shiva killed king Daksha but later brought him back to life.
4km from Haridwar, Sati kund is another major mythological heritage worth a visit . It is situated in kankhal.

Laxmi Narayan Temple
The temple bears sign indicating to have been built in 1867. The smaller of the two spires over foot print of Vishnu from which Har ki pauri gets its name. Local traditions recounts that it was built by Raja Man Singh who was vassal of Mughual emperor Akbar.
